Native to Asia, this heat and humidity loving shrub was introduced first to European Orangeries and then to southern Brazil where organic Kumquat orchards thrive.

Citrus japonica Kumquat fruit has the unusual arrangement of citrus sweet skin and sour pulp. The cold-pressed sweet peel provides a rich source of lively limonene, a robust free radical scavenger, and more than 100 additional plant constituents half of those are unique to Kumquat essential oil.
